1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the website varno.fitand to the Varno size-recommendation widget that brands embed on their own e-commerce stores (collectively, “Varno”, “we”, “us”). Varno is operated from India. For any privacy question, write to hello@varno.fit.

2. What this policy covers

This policy describes how we handle personal data under applicable Indian data-protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDPA”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder.

3. Information we collect

(a) On varno.fit (this marketing website): When you fill out the contact form, we collect the name, email, optional mobile number, optional store URL and message you submit. The form is processed via a third-party form provider (Web3Forms) and the submission is delivered to our team email.

(b) In the Varno widget on brand stores:The widget is designed to be privacy-light. It does not ask customers for name, email or phone. It collects only the information needed to compute a size recommendation — for example, the inputs the customer chooses (such as current size, fit preference, height, weight or category) and an anonymous Varno ID assigned to the customer's browser. Where the shade-match feature is used, the camera feed is processed live in the browser to estimate skin tone; image frames are not stored by Varno.

(c) Logs and analytics: Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, device type, browser type, referring page and timestamps. We use this to operate and secure the service.

4. How we use information

• To respond to enquiries you submit through the contact form.
• To provide the size-recommendation service to the brand whose store you are shopping on.
• To improve our recommendation models, in aggregated and de-identified form.
• To operate, secure and troubleshoot our website and widget.
• To comply with applicable law.

5. Legal basis and consent

We process personal data only with your consent or where otherwise permitted under the DPDPA — for example, to perform a service you requested or to comply with a legal obligation. By submitting the contact form, you consent to our processing the information you provide for the purposes described above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to hello@varno.fit.

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal data. We share information only:

• With service providers that help us operate Varno (e.g. hosting, email delivery, form processing) under appropriate confidentiality arrangements;
• With the brand whose store the widget is embedded on, in the form of aggregated or anonymous size and return analytics;
• If required by law, regulation, court order or to protect the rights, safety or property of Varno or others.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Contact-form enquiries are retained for our records and customer-relationship purposes and may be deleted on request. Anonymous size data may be retained to improve the service.

8. Security

We use reasonable security practices and procedures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to keep your devices updated.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, update or request erasure of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to grieve any concern about how your data is handled. To exercise these rights, write to hello@varno.fit. We will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Children

Varno is built for adult customers shopping on fashion stores. The service is not directed to children below 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of varno.fit or the Varno widget after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
